PALS ADT: Breastfeeding 201; What Doulas Need To Know

This course is designed to build on the breastfeeding information and skills provided in one’s initial doula training.

Topics covered will include:

  • The first latch:  the doula’s role in more detail
  • Baby-led latching- why is it important that babies lead the way?
  • Updates about breast anatomy & latch
  • Emotions of breastfeeding- prenatal to postpartum
  • Panel of breastfeeding moms/babes
  • Case studies illustrating the role of the doula
  • Hand expression- why, when and how
  • Nipple shields, feeding tubes and bottles, oh my!
  • When to refer and resources

Instructor:  Alissa Wehrman, CD (PALS), CD(DONA), CLE

Cost:  $45 PALS members,  $55 non-members
