This course is designed to build on the breastfeeding information and skills provided in one’s initial doula training.
Topics covered will include:
- The first latch: the doula’s role in more detail
- Baby-led latching- why is it important that babies lead the way?
- Updates about breast anatomy & latch
- Emotions of breastfeeding- prenatal to postpartum
- Panel of breastfeeding moms/babes
- Case studies illustrating the role of the doula
- Hand expression- why, when and how
- Nipple shields, feeding tubes and bottles, oh my!
- When to refer and resources
