Formal Training
- I trained as a labor doula in 1995 at Seattle Midwifery School. In 1999, I completed a one-year intensive midwifery program at Maternidad La Luz in El Paso, Texas. There, I was fortunate to be a student midwife at over one hundred births, 25 of which I was the primary midwife under supervision. I am also a postpartum doula, receiving my training through Bates Technical College in 2003.
