Biography
Hi! My name is Stephanie and I have had the honor of attending births as a birth doula since 2001. I became certified with PALS in 2003. When not attending births I also work at the Seattle Midwifery School (soon to be a part of Bastyr University) and spend lots of time outside with my very active son!
I respect each woman's vision of a perfect birth. I have come to understand birth as complex and wonderful as it is a physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural event in a family's journey. As your birth doula, I listen to your needs and support you before, during and after your baby's birth.
Included in my fee are:
1-2 prenatal visits
being on call 24/7 until the birth of your baby
attending the birth (no matter how long)
providing emotional, physical and educational support
1-2 postpartum visits
I look forward to working with you and your family!

Experience or Specialized Training
- I have worked with families from many different backgrounds, income levels, and ethnicities. I have worked with many families where older siblings are involved and attending the birth. I have worked with parents of all ages, teenagers, single mothers, married couples, and unmarried couples.
- As a trained ESL instructor, I can also help navigate the \"world of birth\" for women or their partners who might speak a language other than English as their first language.
- I also have the personal experience of sharing different ethnicities with my partner and understand the issues that multi-ethnic families might encounter during the transition to parenthood.
